Architect — Defence ICT (ARCH Level 5)
The Directorate of Modernisation, Assurance and Technical Integration (MATI) requires an Architect to support the design, development and implementation of secure ICT systems under the guidance of the Lead Architect.
Overview
This role assists in preparing architectural documentation, conducting system analysis and ensuring compliance with established standards and security requirements. The Architect contributes to testing activities, helps coordinate installation tasks and supports the set-to-work process.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Architect in designing and documenting secure ICT system architectures
- Prepare architectural documentation and design artefacts
- Conduct system analysis and ensure compliance with Defence standards and security requirements
- Contribute to testing activities and validate system configurations
- Assist with the set-to-work process and resolve minor technical issues
- Facilitate knowledge transfer across the architecture team
- Maintain design integrity throughout the delivery lifecycle
Essential Criteria
- Relevant qualifications, certifications or demonstrated experience designing secure gateway solutions for Defence or government environments
- Current NV1 security clearance (or above)
Desirable Criteria
- TOGAF certification
- ITIL Foundation or higher
- CISSP or SABSA certification
- Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
Work Arrangements
On-site at HMAS Harman, Canberra ACT 2600. Government furnished facilities including a Defence PC on the DPN/DSN network will be provided.
