We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build and maintain secure cloud infrastructure for a major government department. This is a 12-month contract based in Canberra with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering critical ICT capabilities and will be responsible for the reliability, security and performance of cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable AWS and Azure cloud solutions Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Ansible Monitor system performance and respond to incidents Implement security controls in line with the ISM and Essential Eight Collaborate with network, security and application teams Produce technical documentation and operational runbooks
Essential Criteria
Minimum 5 years experience in cloud engineering Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure services Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools Current NV1 security clearance or the ability to obtain one Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable Criteria
AWS or Azure professional certification Experience in a Defence or government environment Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration
Work Arrangements
This role is based on-site in Canberra ACT with hybrid flexibility. Standard hours apply, Monday to Friday. Government furnished equipment will be provided.
