Overview
This role provides essential project coordination and administrative support to the Design Directorate within the SSN-AUKUS Support Branch. The successful candidate will support project managers and senior technical staff with day-to-day operations, governance compliance, schedule discipline, and information integrity across complex, safety-critical programs. This role may involve out-of-hours work to support engagement with UK and US counterparts.
Key Duties and Deliverables
- Provide project coordination and administrative support to enable effective control, reporting, and governance of complex programs within the Design Directorate
- Support project managers and senior team members by maintaining accurate records, coordinating activities, and ensuring established project management processes are followed
- Contribute to schedule and reporting discipline and ensure information integrity across program activities
- Support project assurance activities through accurate record-keeping and data tracking
- Ensure compliance with established project management frameworks and templates
- Assist with audits, reviews, and information requests as directed by the Commonwealth Representative
- Liaise with UK and US counterparts as required, including outside standard business hours
Essential Criteria
- Active NV1 (or above) AGSVA security clearance
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination or project support within a Defence, engineering, or government environment
- Familiarity with project governance frameworks, reporting processes, and document management standards
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and tracking deliverables
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a high-tempo environment
- Willingness and ability to be based in Adelaide, with travel to Canberra as required
Desirable Criteria
- Experience supporting Defence capability acquisition or major engineering programs
- Familiarity with ITSM or project management tools (e.g. JIRA, MS Project, SharePoint)
- Prince2 Foundation or equivalent project management qualification
- Experience supporting international stakeholder engagement including US or UK Defence counterparts
