Overview
Two Requirements and T&E Engineers are required to support the Support Systems Directorate within the SSN-AUKUS Support Branch. These roles will establish and maintain a rigorous, end-to-end requirements and verification framework across complex, safety-critical submarine systems, ensuring full traceability from capability requirements through to acceptance evidence. Key Duties and Deliverables
- Establish and maintain a rigorous end-to-end assessment and verification framework across complex, safety-critical submarine systems
- Ensure support system outputs are clearly defined, logically structured, and aligned with capability outcomes
- Integrate Test and Evaluation (T&E) planning directly into the requirements baseline to reduce technical and program risk through early verification planning
- Ensure each requirement is measurable, testable, and supported by an evidence-based verification method with clear linkage between requirements, design, and acceptance evidence
- Maintain a robust, auditable, and defensible requirements baseline throughout the program lifecycle in line with ASA and ODCS compliance requirements
- Support reduction of technical and program risk through controlled, traceable, and capability-aligned requirements management
Essential Criteria
- Active NV1 (or above) AGSVA security clearance
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Demonstrated experience in requirements engineering and T&E planning on Defence capability programs involving complex, safety-critical systems
- Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS, JAMA, IBM Engineering, or equivalent)
- Experience developing verification methods, test plans, and acceptance criteria aligned to capability and safety requirements
Desirable Criteria
- Experience on submarine, naval, or aerospace platform requirements and T&E programs
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools
- Experience working in ITAR-controlled or export-controlled Defence environments
- Chartered or Professional Engineer status
