Project Support Officer — Procurement

The Platform Integrated Electronic Systems (Plat-IES) team within the Land C4 Integration SPO is responsible for delivering and sustaining integrated electronic system capabilities that support Defence operational requirements.

Overview

The Project Support Officer will operate as part of the Plat-IES Program Management Office (PMO), providing project procurement support across a range of funding lines and procurement types, with a primary focus on scheduling, procurement coordination, project administration, governance support and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate procurement activities including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice processing, commitment tracking and procurement reporting
  • Coordinate procurement documentation including Requests for Quotation and supporting evaluation activities in accordance with Defence policy and governance requirements
  • Maintain procurement, financial and project registers to support project management and reporting
  • Support financial administration including expenditure tracking, reconciliation and reporting
  • Support procurement risk, issue, dependency and decision management activities
  • Support preparation of agendas, minutes, action registers, briefs and stakeholder communications
  • Support project reporting across risk, schedule, governance, financial and performance domains

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry/domain experience
  • Current experience conducting Commonwealth procurement, commercial administration and financial management activities
  • Experience supporting project, program or sustainment activities in a complex environment
  • Strong organisational, planning and administrative skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise resource planning / document management systems
  • Current NV1 security clearance (minimum)
  • Ability to work on site a minimum of 3 days per week

Work Arrangements

On-site in Melbourne. Candidates must be able to work from the Melbourne location. Minimum 3 days per week on site. ASAP start through to 31 March 2027, with possible extension.
