Integrated Logistics Support Officer / Assistant Fleet Manager

The Battlefield Command System programme is a critical enabler of the Land Combat System, connecting sensors, decision makers and effectors in the Land Force through sustainment support. The fleet encompasses deployable data and voice communication systems used across the Australian Defence Force for battlespace command and control.

Overview

The Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Officer will report to the Sustainment Manager and perform complex logistics inventory and asset management within an integrated workforce, under limited direction. The role requires a well-developed understanding of, and compliance with, relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making processes and Defence policy requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to logistics management activities providing support to units within Defence
  • Participate in the review and development of policies, procedures and processes for logistics management
  • Undertake and complete assigned tasks for fleet and logistics management
  • Interpret and provide advice on logistics policy and legislation to Defence stakeholders
  • Undertake technical research, analysis, reviews and assessments
  • Coordinate and contribute to team workflow; may supervise, set work priorities and manage performance
  • Review and develop the quality of work undertaken by others and identify on-the-job training opportunities
  • Design solutions to issues impacting achievement of desired outcomes

Desirable Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in integrated logistic support or logistics fleet management
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Defence or a related technical industry (communications equipment desirable)
  • Previous experience with Defence logistics information systems
  • Previous experience with enterprise resource planning systems (SAP)
  • Defence fleet and asset management experience

Essential Criteria

  • Current NV1 security clearance (minimum)
  • Ability to work on site a minimum of 3 days per week

Work Arrangements

On-site in Melbourne. Candidates must be able to work from the Melbourne location. ASAP start through to 31 March 2027, with possible extension.
