Junior Network / Infrastructure Engineer

Multiple positions available. Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure — physical, virtual, networking and cloud — that supports digital services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of a complex ICT environment containing both Cisco and Juniper based networking systems, as well as cryptographic networking devices
  • With guidance, monitor the reliability of systems using standard procedures and tools to carry out defined system configuration, backups and data restoration
  • Use network management tools to collect and report on load and performance statistics
  • With guidance, capture and respond to incidents, problems and changes within the IT service management platform, including administration of accounts and permissions
  • Contribute to the identification of operational problems and to their resolution
  • Assist in documenting existing and new features and processes related to system support and enhancement

Technical Skills

  • Experience administering Cisco and/or Juniper networking systems and core ICT network infrastructure
  • Experience monitoring network infrastructure using tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Transport Controller and Splunk

Security Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance.

Work Arrangements

On-site in South Australia; some roles are located at RAAF Edinburgh. These roles involve shift work. Maximum 40 hours per week. Working arrangements are at the discretion of the assigned work area, subject to operational need; not all work areas can accommodate work from home.

Initial contract 12 months, with 2 x 12-month extension options. Estimated start 1 September 2026.
