The Senior GCP Architect is responsible for designing and leading secure, scalable and resilient Google Cloud Platform solutions across complex enterprise environments.

The role provides technical leadership across cloud architecture, platform design, networking, security, automation, migration and operational support. The architect works with business, security, infrastructure and application teams to translate requirements into practical GCP solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Design enterprise GCP architectures, landing zones and cloud foundations.
Develop solution designs covering compute, storage, networking, identity, security, monitoring and disaster recovery.
Lead hybrid connectivity and networking design, including VPCs, firewalls, routing, VPN, Interconnect and load balancing.
Define IAM, security, logging, governance and compliance controls.
Support migration and modernisation of workloads into GCP.
Provide guidance on infrastructure-as-code, automation, CI/CD and operational support models.
Establish standards for reliability, performance, cost management and business continuity.
Review technical designs and mentor cloud engineering teams.
Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills
Strong experience designing and delivering GCP solutions.
Deep knowledge of GCP networking, security, IAM and cloud governance.
Experience with GCP landing zones, hybrid cloud and workload migration.
Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
Strong understanding of containers, Kubernetes, monitoring and cloud operations.
Ability to produce architecture documentation, diagrams and design packs.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills.
Desirable
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification.
Experience with Google Distributed Cloud, Anthos or hybrid cloud platforms.
Experience in Defence, government, critical infrastructure or secure environments.
Knowledge of ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight, ISO 27001 or NIST frameworks.
